About the Event
Trevelin Fly-In X-STOL is much more than an event: it is the international meeting point for mountain flying in South America. Organized by Patagonia Bush Pilots, it brings together national and international aircraft in a unique experience that celebrates aviation, adventure, and community. Each edition strengthens Trevelin’s position as the National Capital of Mountain Flying.
The Fly-In gathers pilots, aeroclubs, and aircraft from across Argentina and abroad for three days of mountain flying, safety clinics, and a STOL competition that has become a reference in the region.
The program includes precision landings, short takeoff and landing challenges, and the traditional “flour bombing” test over a target on the runway — a classic discipline from Alaskan fly-ins that offers a unique show for spectators.
Schedule
The schedule may be adjusted depending on aerodrome operations and weather conditions.

STOL Competition
The competition is governed by a specific guideline that details aircraft classes, procedures, and how takeoff and landing distances are measured on short fields.
All details are provided in the official guideline available as a PDF.
If you’re not sure which category your aircraft belongs to, indicate it on the form and the Air Boss will help you define it.
Lodging & Access
Trevelin and Esquel offer a wide range of accommodations. In addition, limited spots will be available at the aerodrome for under-wing camping and vehicle parking.

Practical Information
Here are answers to the most common questions from pilots and companions: ramp procedures, tie-down, camping, fuel, pets, circulation, and more.
Pilots must shut down engines on the taxiway and push the aircraft to the parking spot. Likewise, aircraft must be pushed back to the taxiway before starting the engines.
Each pilot must bring their own tie-down kit. Once landed, the pilot must coordinate with the AIR BOSS for the tie-down location. Spots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis or at the discretion of the AIR BOSS.
Yes, you can camp under your wing, but there is a designated area for this called Lot 2, indicated on the airfield map. Open-flame cooking of any kind is not allowed at the airfield. If you bring a recreational vehicle, please check with the airfield staff about where it may be used. A limited number of campers will be allowed inside the camping zone.
Yes, you may fly in a group and park together, but if you don’t arrive at the same time, it may not be possible to place all aircraft side by side. We will do our best to accommodate you, but adjacent parking tends to fill up quickly.
Yes, you must use your own tow bar because we need to maximize the parking space available. Please park as close as possible and avoid blowing dust with your prop near the hangars.
Patagonia Bush Pilots provides AVGAS 100LL and MOVGAS at the airfield. Look for a staff member and they will assist you with refueling.
Yes, you can self-fuel, but it is mandatory to have your fire extinguisher out and accessible during any fueling operation.
Yes, pets are allowed, but they must remain leashed at all times and you must clean up after them immediately. The event attracts many spectators and spinning propellers are extremely dangerous, so we strongly recommend leaving pets at home if possible.
Yes, you can walk around the displayed aircraft, but you must NEVER walk in front of a running aircraft or one with people onboard. NEVER cross the runway. Do not touch aircraft and always watch your children and companions.
Private vehicles, RVs, ATVs, etc. are not allowed inside the airfield, except those required for airport operations or direct support of flight operations. Trevelin’s main avenue is located about 700 meters from the Patagonia Bush Pilots hangar entrance.
Smoking is discouraged. If you must smoke, you may do so only in the vehicle parking area, being respectful to others and never discarding cigarette butts on the ground.
Please enjoy the event, but do not leave trash, food scraps, or wildlife attractants. Bringing your own reusable plates and cups is mandatory for the lunches and dinners held during the event.
Assistance may be available on request — if you need help, someone will always lend a hand.
Expect possible delays in fuel, taxi, and departures if you attempt to refuel immediately before the flour bombing, STOL competition, or at the end of the event. Plan to refuel early during your stay.
Do not attempt to taxi or take off during events or aerial demonstrations: frequencies, airspace, and surfaces are extremely congested at those times; it is safer to wait until activities have ended.
Important: the registration deadline is January 16. Contact frequency: 123.5 for arrival instructions.
You can download the full FAQ document with ramp procedures, ground circulation rules, fuel information, and more operational details.
